Farm Fresh First: Red White & Blue

Happy first of July my blogging peeps! So I know I've been missing for quite a while, but I have a good reason, swearsies! (I've always wanted to say that :D ) Seriously though, we got news that my hubby was in fact deploying, so our leave took place about a month earlier than it would have. I had a lovely two week vacation in Texas visiting family and it truly went by too quickly! Have you guys gone on summer vacay yet? With Independence day fast approaching (3 days away) We over at The Greeting Farm decided to dedicate this month's challenge to celebrating our country's Independence. For the entire month of July, we wanna see your patriotic side, show us that RED WHITE and BLUE! I'd actually altered and colored up this adorable little lady months ago, anticipating a red white and blue challenge. I loved the way she came out and could not wait to add her to a card. Last year I purchased the Bo Bunny "Anthem" 6x6 DP pad and of course, was not able to use it after the 4th, as is the case usually with themed paper pads. I knew I would hardly have a reason to use it but it was so adorable and perfect I couldn't resist. The image was colored up with my copics and a bit of stickles glitter glue. I didn't want to take away from the pretty white washed wooden background so I simply added a few matching sequins. The sentiment comes from the 4x6 Dollie with Kitty set (also from The Greeting Farm). I thought it was perfect considering my soldier is so far from home, I plan to send it to him and let him know that just because he's not physically here doesn't mean he's not on our minds and in our hearts. Farm Fresh Friday

Happy Farm Fresh Friday my crafty pals! With St. Patrick's day right around the corner we over at The Greeting Farm wanted to show our St Paddy's day spirit with this week's challenge, Luck of the Irish! So go ahead and get green with us and if shamrocks and gold coins aren't your thing, don't worry its not necessary. The rules of this challenge are a color combo, all you have to do is use green and white to enter. I love the idea of getting to use my much neglected green copic marker combos so all that was left to do was decide which fabby TGF stamp I wanted for the challenge. I ended up not being able to decide, so I created two different cards using 2 different TGF stamps so you're in for a double treat!

Now I'm sure you probably noticed that these stamps don't look completely familiar and you're right. I love the versatility of TGF stamps because they can be tweaked to fit themes without changing the fabulousness of the stamp. To make Slumber fit the St. Patrick's day theme I wanted for my card, I wiped away the roses in her hair with a baby wipe and drew in a few clovers instead with a copic multiliner. For Dollie, I wiped away the cupcake on her plate and replaced it with a big foaming mug of beer... butterbeer! Haha no alcohol for my TGF cuties :D this big HP fan gave one of her fave Dollie darlings a big cold glass of butterbeer and a clover in her hair instead of the heart that was there originally. Doesn't she make an adorable waitress? Both images were colored up with my copic markers on Cryogen White cardstock. I added eucalyptus stickles here and there for some much needed sparkle. The sentiments are from Lawn Fawn and the dies used were a combination of LaLa Land Crafts (heart ribbon corner and stitched circles) and Poppy dies (banner). The shamrocks were created by taking the hearts left over from the heart ribbon corner die and arranging them in the shape of a clover and adding stickles. Here's to the New Year and a New FFF Challenge

Happy New Year guys! Have you seen the new website? Isn't it fabulous? TGF has truly outdone themselves, if you haven't yet be sure to check it out! Now, I don't know about you but crafting like crazy was high up on my list of resolutions for 2015. And what better way to welcome a new year than with sparkle bling and pizzas? No, no. Not pizza, I meant pizazz (although pizza doesn't sound to bad either!). Sparkle and bling go hand in hand with new year's cheer and the DT has plenty of that so here's my project for this week's Farm Fresh Friday, Holiday Glam

If you've been a friend of the Farm for a while you probably recognize this adorable little lady as the free digi TGF gave their fans for New Years 2011. To make the year on her sash fit the current year I erased the numbers before printing off the digi and then wrote them in using a copic multiliner. Since i wasn't in the mood to make a card (and since my shaker card turned out no so fabulous) I decided to create a 3d paper rosette. I started by scoring two pieces of 8 1/2" x 11" black cardstock every inch folding accordion style using a bone folder for tight creases. Next  Take one accordion and adhere the ends of one side by folding it in half. Next I folded the accordion in half and attached the ends with hot glue since I needed it to be fairly sturdy. I then repeated the process on the second accordion and joined the two pieces together and fanning them out to create a circle. I did the same thing with two smaller sheets of DP from my stash to create a smaller rosette and secured the smaller to the larger with my hot glue gun. After than I used my spellbinders dies to cut out the scalloped circle and layered circle background and a stars embossing folder to add interest to the background Anya would rest on then adhering each with hot glue as well. used my awesome copic markers to color up Ms Anya along with my wink of stella clear brush pen and used a few foam dots to lift her off the background a bit. Finally I used Judikins Diamond glaze to adhere a few die cut stars around the edges and more hot glue to attach a string for hanging and this little cutie was ready to bling in the new year! Its beginning to look a lot like...

Hello crafty pals, did you miss me? ^.^ I sure hope so, but not too much! I hope you guys had a great labor day weekend and maybe caught some good labor day sales, I know I sure did! This week has been super busy, as my little rugrat started school today. This week was spent mainly in preparation for her first day, making sure she had everything she needed. Today I put my little munchkin on the bus for the first time ever and I almost teared up, however, she didn't even look back! They really do grow up so fast. The only good that came out of her being away at school was that I got a little crafting done. Everyone keeps saying that it's supposed to start snowing earlier than last year, by the end of this month unfortunately, so like it or not I'm starting to get into the Christmas spirit. Christmas cards are so fun to make, especially with stamps that aren't traditionally for Christmas! This week's FFF Challenge is to use your Favorite Embellishment. My favorite embellishment is bling, in just about any form! I rose to the challenge and this little girlie is decked out in wink of stella, stickles, liquid pearls, and pearl flourishes. The image I used is actually a few different TGF images put together colored with my copics. For the hat I used Cheeky X-mas, the head belongs to the adorable Wild Sprout Nala from the Roll Call Kit (retired, sorry!) and the body is the exclusive Skyward Anya. I love playing around with TGF stamps, seeing who's head looks good on who's body to create a whole new stamp is just so much fun. The DP I used was something from my LCS' open stock. Both the sentiment and the cork tree embellishment was created by me using the accent stamp from the Cheeky X-mas set stamped in SU! Real Red. The tree was stamped on DCWV adhesive cork paper and punched out with circle punch. Can't wait to join in the challenge over at The Farm

Birthday Wishes

Hello all! Six years ago I met my best friend and was fortunate enough to become his wife and mother of our two beautiful daughters. I suppose you're wondering why I'm telling you guys this? I don't normally blog on Saturdays but today is a special occasion, my DH's birthday!!! Unfortunately he is still away at Army BCT so I can't celebrate with him but I miss him like crazy. Fortunately, the long process is almost over and after what feels like AGES, I'll finally get to see him again soon for family day and graduation later this month!!! In honor of his SIT status I decided to do an Army themed card instead of just a happy birthday. The colors were a nightmare to try and incorporate with the camo, but in the end it turned out just perfect and I hope he loves it

C.C. Dante

I used C.C. Dante and colored him up using copics. I then used the hat from the OA Lovey Dovey 4x6 set to complete the 'uniform' and altered him a bit by drawing those notorious military issued glasses, so lovingly called BCG's (or birth control glasses) most often. I took a few stars that were much to small for my toddlers leftover from their art kit and painted them gold for a little something extra. I then created a hand made dog tag out of a scrap of cardstock colored silver, and found a small section of an old necklace, whose pendant was long ago lost to complete this not so standard issued birthday card for my SIT ^.^ I plan to enter this card in the FFF Challenge Recycle It! over at Splendid Stamping. Cyber Monday Celebration Hop!

OMG super excited for this hop! The clever folks over at Splendid Stamping decided to celebrate cyber Monday by doing an all customer blog hop, how cool is that?! What is it? Well, I'm not entirely sure but it sounds like a blast and so far the last time I looked there were around 37 blogs linked up for this hop so its gonna be a big one loaded with beautiful projects from many different people with a love for those adorable TGF products! Winners of the hop will receive a $25 gift certificate to one RANDOM winner who participates in the hop, along with a 2nd prize of a 4x6 set, 3rd prize of a single rubber set, and some 'honorable mention digis' for creativity and design at the discretion of the Design Team. I don't know about you but I've got chills just thinking about it!!! Also to add to the fun, I have two cards created with the FFF Color Challenge "Baby Blue, Silver, and White". What an awesome color combo, perfect for this season but not specific to it so there are lots of ways to use it. Hanging Around

Back again and today we'll be bumming wifi from Mc Donalds, while my kids run themselves silly at the Play Place ^.^ ! I swear its starting to feel like a fun game, you never know where I'll blog from next hee hee! Anywho, the other day I was looking over on one of my favorite blogs,  Paper Drama and remembered a wonderful tutorial on rendering leopard print with copic markers. I've been meaning to try it out myself it really is a gorgeous technique requires only about 3 or 4 markers and is so easy to do. I've also been obsessed with how great the Anya Strolls body looks with  C.C. Friday Night's head so I keep playing around with the paper piecing long after the Alter Ego challenge over at Splendid Stamping has ended. I also noticed I've been doing a lot of cards so I decided to give a few other projects a chance, that being said, whipped out my Homemade Mod Podge and got to work. This is what I came up with:

I started with a plain ol' balsa wood door hanger from my local CSS and covered it in black cardstock. I then cut out rectangles in various sizes from several different scraps from a DCWV stack and glued them down. Next came my Anya/ Friday combo with more Mod Podge and the sentiment from the Anya Strolls set stamped in no particular pattern, with red and black ink. A little candy cane stickles swirled here and there, a bow from my stash, and TA-DAAAA! Isn't it awesome? And you can bet this wont be the last project you see spots on, or my Anya/Friday combo! I plan to enter her in the latest awesome challenge over at Splendid Stamping, where the FFF challenge is "Cut it Out". So excited, wish me luck and thanks for stopping by!
